Evac+Chair Mk 3 Launched Setting New Standards
Thousands of visitors at Safety & Health Expo 2006
will witness the launch of Evac+Chair International’s
new Mk 3 emergency evacuation chair.
Like its predecessors, the Mk 3 model sets new standards
in its field, this time in terms of payload capacity and
angle of decent.
Built on the latest research, the chair now accepts a
person of up to 150kg, catering for a growing population
of heavier people with mobility difficulties, yet is
still lightweight at less than 10 kg.
Tried and tested advancements in the angle of decent
also mean that the new chair functions equally as well
on stair gradients of 40% as it does at 28%, making it
fully compliant with National Fire Protection
Association guidelines.
The Evac+Chair is a cost effective solution that allows
employers to comply with the Disability Discrimination
Act which states they must provide an adequate means of
escape for all. It allows one person to transport a
mobility-impaired individual on the flat or down stairs
quickly and safely without the need for lifting or great
physical strength. The smooth, controlled operation of
the chair is due to the interface of specially modified
V-belts which continuously work to slow down descent
over stair nosings in proportion to the weight of the
passenger.
The company offers a total ‘turn-key’ solution from site
surveys and the manufacture and supply of the evacuation
chair through to training and servicing.
The Mk3 version can be seen at the NEC Safety & Health
Expo from May 9-11 2006 on Stand D80.
