Frenger supplies invisible service chilled beams to call centres

Frenger Systems has developed a cooling system for call centres that is comfortable, silent, practically invisible and almost totally self-regulating. Furthermore, the passive beam cooling technology uses less energy to run, and maintenance is limited to a wipe-over with a damp cloth every 3 years or so. Frenger has supplied over 10,000 units of their radiant/convective passive chilled beams to call centre projects throughout the UK.

Frenger’s CARAT passive chilled beam looks and operates like no other beam on the market today – it does not use traditional closely-spaced fins, and cools by Radiation and convection (unlike most passive beams that cool by convection alone). Positioned above a perforated metal ceiling system, CARAT delivers unrivalled levels of cooling capacity and occupancy comfort; up to 150 w/m2 of cooling with no drafts and no noise.

Furthermore, because a significant amount of the cooling is delivered via a Radiant effect the product moves less air and therefore CARAT can be used with very small ceiling perforations (2.4mm diameter holes and 28% free area), making it virtually invisible from below Frenger worked closely with building designers and consulting engineers and conducted a programme of testing at the Company’s climate facilities in Derby to demonstrate that the solution met mechanical and architectural expectations whilst delivering the best possible environment for building occupants.
