Quinn SPC: accredited by BBA

Derrylin, Northern Ireland - 27th of April 2006 - QUINN SPC Multiwall Polycarbonate glazing sheets from Quinn Plastics have been accredited with the British Board of Agrément (BBA) certificate. This certificate underlines Quinn’s commitment to high quality production, said a company spokesman. Quinn Plastics, Europe’s foremost supplier of transparent and coloured plastic sheets, has extrusion, distribution and customer service facilities in the UK in Alfreton, Derbyshire.

Quinn SPC Multiwall Polycarbonate glazing sheets are designed for use as roof glazing in areas such as greenhouses, horticultural buildings, conservatories and as North lights in domestic, industrial and commercial installations calling for Tp(a) classification .

Tests confirm that QUINN SPC sheets (16, 25, 32, and 35 mm), when used in a suitable structural specification, can resist distributed loads up to 1.5 kNm-2 and point loads up to 1.8 kN. Snow loadings for a specific structure should be calculated using BS 6399-3:1988.

When installed, QUINN SPC sheets have an acceptable maximum deflection of 5% and a critical deflection of 7% of the width of the sheet. The sheets have a good resistance to impact from hard bodies such as hailstones or impacts due to vandalism, such as, for example, objects thrown onto the roof from ground level.

QUINN SPC Multiwall Polycarbonate Glazing Sheets are available with 2, 3, 5 or 7 walls or with diamond structured walls. The sheets are available in clear, bronze, opal, arctic pearl, bronze/opal and Silver/diffuse grades in thicknesses of 10, 16, 25, 32 and 35 mm.
