Carrier launches new residential and light commercial products
Carrier UK has unveiled a wide range of innovative
technology aimed at the residential and light commercial
market. Ten new products are being introduced and many
more are promised.
The core product in Carrier’s offering to both sectors
of this market is the new XPOWER™ 1:1 SILENTECH™ Split
system, with the environmentally sound R410A
refrigerant. This is expected to make an impact in the
UK and is already being talked about enthusiastically by
Carrier dealers for its high efficiency, low noise,
reliability and ease of installation. The SILENTECH™,
incorporates the latest ‘blended’ DC inverter
technology, making it virtually inaudible at 26 dB(A)
and ideal for domestic applications or specialized
commercial situations. It is a hi-wall Split system heat
pump air conditioner available in capacities from 0.9 kW
to 4.0 kW cooling and 0.9 kW to 5.8 kW heating.
‘Blended’* inverter technology brings up to 40% energy
savings over non-inverter systems. The Carrier XPOWER™
inverter drive system uses both Pulse Width and Pulse
Amplitude modulation to ensure soft starts, low ambient
operation and efficient part load operation.
For light commercial applications, Carrier is
introducing a new high static ducted unit for its DX
systems under the SATELLITE™ name. The SATELLITE™
product, which is already successfully launched in
Spain, uses a striking new ‘V’-shaped coil with external
static pressure up to 130 Pa. It is also only 285 mm
deep in the 5 -13 kW range and just 220 mm deep in the
2.6-3.5 kW range, making it suitable for the most
restricted spaces. It is Eurovent qualified and has been
shown to be the lightest and quietest unit in its class.
It has been designed to be very flexible in terms of
airflow direction and includes a fresh air inlet option.
It can be controlled by infra-red as well as
conventional hard-wired control. There is also a new 7
to 13 kW mid-static pressure ducted unit added to the
range.
The XPOWER™ Split system and Carrier Multi-split system
ranges boast further new products. The 1:1 Split system
offer will add the flat-fronted SENSATION™ hi-wall in
capacities from 5 to 10 kW. There is also a redesigned
console unit that can be floor or ceiling mounted at 10
and 12 kW. The Multi-split range is extended by the
addition of four new cooling-only inverter models
ranging from 4 to 7.5 kW plus a new 4kW heat pump 2:1
twin Split system and a number of additional ducted
indoor units are now matched to the system.
The already advanced Carrier ‘Air4Life’™ branded,
allergy-protection air filtration system used by many of
its Split systems has also benefited from further
technological innovation. Now the four-stage filtration
process in the SILENTECH™ and SENSATION™ units includes
a Nano Photo Copper and a Nano Photo Silver-Ginseng
filter in place of the Photo-catalytic filter process.
The Photo Copper filter destroys bacteria passing
through its oxidation process. The Nano Silver filter
provides anti-bacteria, anti-fungus and deodorizing
capabilities. The new SENSATION™ hi-wall also
incorporates a room ioniser within the unit.
