Fire Resistance Comes To Timber Doors

The Real Door Company are delighted to announce their inclusion in the IFC Certification Scheme for the repeatable manufacture of fire resistant bespoke timber doors.

The Real Door Company has been producing bespoke fire resistant timber doors exterior doors since 1992. Extensive testing of the doors was originally carried out and individual fire resistant doors have been built for over 10 years supported by test evidence gathered during testing. This new independent certification verifies that the production processes are of high enough quality and consistently managed and documented to guarantee the fire resistant doors produced in The Real Door Company’s Hertfordshire factory always exceed the required standard.

The certification has been undertaken by IFC Certification who are one of the few bodies accredited to carry out such assessments. Regular audits ensure that quality and reliability of the production processes are maintained.

Jerry Quayle, Director of IFC Certification said “The Real Door Company has proven to us they can make high quality timber doors on a production line that consistently meet the stringent requirements of our Fire Resistant Timber Door Scheme (SD01) which ensures compliance to BS 476 Part 22. This is an impressive achievement on their part”

Will Herrmann, Production Director of The Real Door Company said “We knew we already had a well implemented ISO 9001 quality system and that our fire door manufacture was good and repeatable, but now we have independent verification of the production processes to build those designs. This gives our customers that added confidence that they are getting fire resistant timber doors built to a verified production process.”
