Dimplex gives Giraffe a breath of fresh air!

Giraffe is a funky restaurant chain featuring a wide range of world cuisines and with everything on offer from breakfast to late-night cocktails, the atmosphere needs to continually feel fresh as well a requiring high levels of hygiene. For the opening of the latest restaurant in Milton Keynes, Giraffe turned to the comprehensive Dimplex commercial range to select an air curtain to keep out the external environment.

The Giraffe venue in Milton Keynes has a distinctively fun interior design and architect Design LSM specified that the air curtain unit should be a ‘giraffe colour’ to fit in with the unique décor. So as well as requiring a powerful output to minimise draughts, noise and pollution entering the 134-cover restaurant, the unit needed to be custom-coloured.

To meet this requirement, a Dimplex CAB15E was bespoke powder coated to a fawn colour with a subtle satin finish. Dimplex offers this service to all customers, with surface-mounted air curtain units available fully coloured and recessed models supplied with coloured grilles. The units can be supplied to fit in with any company livery or interior design, and with no minimum order quantity, individual units are no problem.

Craig Ballantyne, managing director of contractor BCC Mechanical Services, commented, “We’ve worked closely with Giraffe, the architect and the shop fitter ECSEC to ensure all the requirements on the Milton Keynes project are met. Not only does the colour-coded Dimplex air curtain give the necessary high performance, it is also aesthetically pleasing and really complements the overall look and feel of the restaurant.”

Dimplex offers a wide range of air curtains suited to the popular 1m, 1.5m and 2m door widths with energy saving thermostatic regulation built in, and easy-fix bracket installation. All models provide a powerful airflow to eliminate doorway draughts year-round in even the most challenging of environments.

As well as coming in custom colours, the units are modular, so a tailor-made, individual design is possible, almost regardless of the size or shape of the area. For wider doorways, up to 10 units can be linked together using an optional kit to provide ‘gap-free’ coverage across the entire door width.

For standard orders, the CAB and DAB air curtain ranges are held in stock in the UK for prompt direct-to-site delivery. All Dimplex air curtains come with a three-year guarantee.
