Icopal Systems top green roof features at Ecobuild

Green roof products and systems from Icopal that helped a pioneering residential development in Manchester win a crop of awards… and one for the green roof at the same time – will showcase the company’s stand (E121) at Ecobuild (February 27th – March 1st, Earls Court 2).

Urban Splash’s Moho development has won five major architectural awards as well as Best In Show, the highest accolade of the Flat Roofing Alliance’s 2006 RBM Awards. This goes to the project that demonstrates the very best in bituminous built-up roofing in terms of design, products and installation.

Icopal’s stand at the Ecobuild show, which this year includes an interactive green roof feature, will demonstrate how the company’s green roof systems give a unique combination of benefits including minimum roof loadings (substrates up to a third lighter than standard top soil), integrity of waterproofing surfaces including guarantees of up to 20 years, and single source of supply.

Products and systems from Icopal include extensive systems such as those for sedum and meadow as well as intensive ones for lawns, trees and shrubs, hard landscaping and car parks.

They also cover waterproofing for warm, cold and inverted flat roofs, and design considerations such as drainage, irrigation, roof falls and safety, structural loads and wind action. Accessories such as drainage outlets, tree anchors, edge restraints, termination bars, filler blocks and paving supports are also available.
