ISG InteriorExterior lands £20 million airport hotel scheme

ISG InteriorExterior has secured a circa £20 million project with TAG, the company that operates Farnborough Airport, to build a new four star plus hotel. The 169-bed, four-storey facility with views across the Airport will be operated by Dakota Hotels; the fast growing hotel chain that provides stylish and affordable accommodation for business travellers.
Work on the striking Hamilton Associates designed building has now commenced, with ISG InteriorExterior currently erecting the hotel’s reinforced concrete frame. The stylish design of the hotel features a complex curvilinear metal roof structure with a central curved atrium and glass and aluminium cladding to the façade. The high specification facilities include nine meeting rooms for up to 70 delegates, executive lounge and residents’ gym, as well as a large dining room and bar area.
The specification of pre-fabricated bathroom pods for the project will enable ISG InteriorExterior to make reductions to the overall project programme and minimise the number of trade contractors on site. The off site manufactured pods will be delivered to site when required and then craned into position, with the installation completed once the pods are connected up to key services. The project is scheduled for completion early in 2008.
