Flowcrete UK Ltd - Going for Gold With Flowcrete Floor
Fast and powerful – the unique qualities of
Flowcrete’s Peran STB flooring system are providing the right
surface underfoot for a sports centre situated in the 2012
Olympic city.
Under a fast-track installation project, a new floor has been
installed at Britannia Leisure Centre in the London Borough of
Hackney – an area which will play a key role in the Olympics.
Delivering a hygienic, seamless quartz finish, Peran STB is a
durable, hard-wearing and slip resistant system, which copes
with water, cleaning chemicals and other factors associated with
the leisure industry.
At Britannia Leisure Centre, which is managed by Greenwich
Leisure Limited, Peran STB and coving has been installed in the
poolside and changing rooms.
Prior to the application, the old floor had consisted of small
tiles, which were hard to clean and had been down a long time.
Some of the tiles had cracked and started to look misshapen.
Helen Matthew, Manager at Britannia Leisure Centre, said: “Set
against the new changing cubicles the new floor looks clean and
smart and, with the addition of the coving, we are finding it
much easier to clean and maintain.”
Flowcrete approved contractor McDaid Screeding, based in Luton,
carried out the installation. Spring & Co of London were main
contractor for the refurbishment works.
