LA Husbands Ltd - Top Safety Accreditation for Husbands
Birmingham lift company Husbands has
received an accreditation which recognises very high standards
of health and safety practice among UK contractors.
The accreditation was awarded by SAFEcontractor which is
operated by international safety, health and environmental risk
management specialists, the National Britannia Group.
Husbands is one of the UK’s leading providers of food service,
document and passenger lifts and disabled platforms and is based
in Shelah Road, Halesowen. It received the accreditation for its
track record for safe practice and following a comprehensive
vetting process looking at its health and safety procedures.
Husbands’ owner and managing director Keith Holmes says he is
delighted to have achieved the high standards in health and
safety, which is part of a universal drive to push contractor
standards up across the country. He comments:
“It is good for our staff and customers that our commitment to
health and safety has been publicly recognised in this way. We
will now go onto a database of accredited contractors, which
enables organisations to vet potential contractors before they
set foot on site.“
James Ostler, managing director of Information Service at
National Britannia adds:
“Major organisations can no longer run the risk of employing
contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound
health and safety policies. More companies need to understand
the importance of adopting good risk management.”
The SAFEcontractor scheme covers services including building,
cleaning, maintenance, refurbishment, electrical and mechanical
work.
