Siedle - Siedle unveils new range of hands-free entry phones
Siedle is extending its range of door telephones with
hands-free units that enable greater ease of use and
increase security. Their main characteristics are
compact dimensions, ergonomic design, ease of operation
and availability in a wide range of styles.
The hands-free intercom units function without any
involvement from the people talking: an electronic
control system recognises the direction of voice
communication and suppresses any ambient noise. One
touch of a button is sufficient to accept and end a
call, similar to picking up and putting down a regular
handset. The distinct shape, size and position of the
call button highlight its central function, and a mouth
symbol provides an unambiguous indication of its
purpose. Siedle thus avoids an important safety risk,
namely that of a user inadvertently pressing the door
opener instead of the call button and admitting any
visitors before they have been identified. The distinct,
ergonomically conceived design eliminates this risk of
confusion. In fact the central call button is so easy to
find and operate that it won’t matter if you have
mislaid your spectacles. And if your hands happen to be
full, you can even use your elbow. This clear design
also makes the units suitable for elderly users.
Apart from safe operation, the design also focuses on
individual styling. The hands-free units can largely be
adapted to the style of the building or furnishings.
They are available in twelve standard models, including
stainless steel, aluminium, a number of paint finishes,
laminated precious wood veneers and real gold plating.
And wherever technically feasible, Siedle can also cater
to special requirements for material or finish.
“Siedle-Individual” – the extremely versatile design
concept – was launched in 2006 with the Siedle in-house
phones and has since received a number of design awards.
Thanks to their small height of only 23 millimetres, the
hands-free door phones are even suitable for
installation in narrow hallways. As members of Siedle’s
In-Home bus family of products, they can be freely
combined with all Siedle bus call units, whether audio
or video and with or without receiver. Planners and
building contractors can thus respond flexibly to users’
design requirements, without having to take account of
them while still preparing wiring diagrams.
