eOffice - Revolutionary design-led offices offer new dimension
to flexible working in the City
A new name in innovative design-led serviced offices is being
launched next week (7 June) in Central Birmingham. With its prime
city location on Smallbrook Queensway and a stone’s throw away from
New Street Station, eOffice Birmingham is set to new standards in
flexible working environments.
Founded by entrepreneur, Pier Paolo Mucelli, eOffice offers
contemporary offices, meeting and conference spaces, equipped with
state-of-the-art technology; all available on flexible terms. The
unique 10,000 sq ft workspace is modelled around the three key
elements of design, technology and people, and is targeted towards
entrepreneurial individuals, start-ups and SMEs as well as national
or even international companies requiring a Birmingham presence,
without the usual overheads associated with grade A commercial
property.
The innovative workplaces will have a profound effect on
organisational culture and individual performance. Design is
strongly connected to business success, with clear evidence that
Britain's most successful companies are using design to fuel growth;
a Design Council study found a group of companies recognised as
effective users of design outperformed key FTSE indices by 200%. The
same research showed that 90% of businesses which are growing
rapidly say design is integral, whereas, only 26% of static
companies say the same.
eOffice has collaborated with leading IT, furniture and interior
design specialists to create a stimulating, attractive and sociable
working environment which result in mini 'business districts' under
one roof. The space consists of a number of self-contained small
offices, as well as a spacious open plan area. 'Breakout' spaces are
available and members can enjoy a coffee while connecting to the
WiFi network, or simply browse through the selection of lifestyle
magazines and design books. Indeed, the eOffice reception area looks
more like a boutique hotel lobby than an office.
Growth in technology has dramatically changed the way that business
is done in the 21st century with the internet as the obvious example
of technology enablement. The current emerging technologies
associated with wireless and mobile communications means that a
swathe of products and services will become web enabled, and now
that workers are increasingly mobile, high speed internet access,
video conferencing and IT support are essential.
eOffice has selected a solution from the hotel industry, enabling
members to instantly 'plug and work' offering wireless connectivity
throughout and even wireless printing. There's a choice of meeting
rooms - all with plasma screens - ranging from those suitable for a
one-to-one interview, to an 88 seat theatre-style conference
facility with the latest audio-visual system.
The eOffice open plan workspace allows for vital interaction,
creating both valuable business and social contacts - not possible
for either homeworkers or those occupying conventional office space
- and a dedicated monthly member event 'Net Thursday' and community
portal myoffice.net provide further opportunities for networking,
sharing of information and ideas.
Apart from full-time serviced office space the business centre
offers hot-desking facilities and virtual office – which provides a
prestigious B5 postal address, mail handling and dedicated telephone
answering and message forwarding service - allowing professional
back up even whilst on the road.
Founder and CEO Pier Paolo Mucelli commented: “The Birmingham
eOffice concept is innovative, adaptive and forward thinking,
appealing to the diverse SME market - particularly the creative and
high-tech industries. The City was the obvious place to launch the
eOffice concept in light of the substantial and positive shift in
the cultural ground influencing how workspace is designed. Offices
of the future will be entirely different to the places where we work
today and we want to be part of the fast growth service industry.”
