C & E Scaffolding - The Jacktie – universal solution for hollow fixings now available in two new sizes

Increased interest in the new Jacktie tool has led to modifications and the introduction of two new sizes, making the Jacktie the number one solution for heavy duty hollow fixing requirements.
Originally designed for the scaffolding industry, the Jacktie is an innovative tool, providing a method of securing to cladded steelwork, hollow section steel structures or RSJs where access is only available from one side. And with two new sizes just introduced, the opportunities are endless for use in trades and industries where hollow fixings are required.
Following numerous enquiries, the new 20mm Jacktie has been developed, which is ideally suited for the safety net industry, providing a strong, safe and high quality alternative for fixing to steelwork. Traditionally safety nets are tied to the steelwork with rope, but as this is not always possible, the 20mm Jacktie can be fixed into the steelwork or purlins to provide an anchor point for securing the nets.
A modification to the existing 25mm Jacktie has added a standard hexagon nut and washer, and comes with a special Jacktie spanner to enable appropriate torque to be applied. Special washers can also be made to order, which spreads the loads applied, giving better load bearing and protection to larger areas and facades.
The Jackties can be used as a temporary or permanent fixing:
· It is an ideal hollow fixing for steelwork with an external or internal thread
· It can be supplied “spark free” to suit the gas and oil industries
Other key benefits of the Jacktie include:
· It eliminates the need to erect a buttress to stabilise scaffolding – saving pounds on labour and material costs
· It is cost effective as the Jacktie is recoverable and can be used over and over again when temporary fixings are applied
· It is very simple and easy to use
· It is very safe as it can only be tightened or removed with the appropriate key
· It allows a tidy, professional and strong fixing
Other industries where the Jacktie could be deployed include the marine industry where access is often limited, as well as the roofing industry where the Jacktie has already been successfully implemented as a permanent maintenance fixing.
Mike Cheetham, creator of Jacktie and a veteran of the scaffolding industry said, “The new sizes of Jacktie open up the possibilities for use. Basically, any structure with limited access, as long as there is a steel purlin, can utilise the Jacktie. It’s extremely simple and quick to use, no training is required and it offers endless opportunities throughout construction, industrial, manufacturing and marine industries.”
He continued, “All the Jackties are fully tested and offer a heavy duty solution to a problem that has plagued the steel industry for years. We can make the Jacktie to order, to any length required as it’s such a versatile tool.”
The Jackties are available in three sizes – the original 25mm, the medium 20mm and the smallest size, the 14mm. For more information, full specifications or to order the Jackties, visit www.jacktie.co.uk
