Proposals for an impressive 38-storey glass tower, which will transform Bradford's skyline, were unveiled in June by local property developers Asquith, to residents and businesses, and initial feedback indicates that Citygate has received strong support from the community.

During an in-depth public consultation, Asquith tried to reach as many of Bradford's local community as possible; not only to give them the opportunity to learn more about the Citygate proposal but also for them to express their views of the development, which will be part of an overall regeneration of the city.

More than 50,000 people received information about Citygate through bespoke drop- in sessions, attendance at schools, attendance at the Bradford Trident Summer Festival, online and through general profile-raising at established community forums and networks; with 4,500 people contacted specifically in the Bradford Trident area.

Those attending the various forums were encouraged to leave feedback with the incentive of £50 worth of shopping vouchers to ensure as many opinions were collected as possible. Results of the consultation will be available later this year.

The proposals for the £150 million Citygate project, which have already been approved by the Bradford Trident board, a community led organisation working to regenerate the city, is now being considered by Bradford Council.
