ISG Totty Building is part way through a £695K project with Kirklees Council to build a new Employee Health Care Unit in Huddersfield. The Unit, which will replace temporary facilities in an out of town location, will provide a range of occupational health services and advice to council employees and managers.

The first phase of the scheme involved the demolition of several derelict buildings occupying the Claremont Street site. ISG Totty Building then commenced construction of the two-storey facility, which has been carefully designed to fit into its local environment, featuring brick, local stone and render panels to its façade and a pitched slate roof.

Once completed, the new Health Care Unit will include a reception and waiting area, four consulting, and three counselling rooms, along with a fitness training room. The first floor accommodation features a large open plan office area, staff room, meeting room and store areas. Externally, ISG Totty Building will construct a number of retaining walls on the sloping site and form a car park to the side of the building, as well as carrying out a range of hard and soft landscaping finishes.
