Norfolk Frames - Want Decent Homes For All

Norfolk Frames, the manufacturer of an award winning range of Decent Homes standard British GRP fibreglass doors, Q Mark fire doors and UPVCu windows, has recently added multilingual door and window care instructions to their website, available for residents to view and download.

The information, which provides simple operational details for users as well as basic do's and don'ts to ensure a trouble-free life for the doors and windows, can be found at http://www.norfolkframes.co.uk/after-care. It is available in English, Bengali, Chinese, Gujarati, Hindi, Kurdish, Punjabi, Somali, Urdu, Vietnamese, Polish and Portuguese.

The provision of this information in various languages is part of Norfolk Frames' strategy of delivering equality and diversity for their partners, tenants and employees.

The company, which is based 11 miles north of Norwich, aims to challenge disadvantage and discrimination; promote equality and diversity in service delivery and employment; and even hopes to influence and support others to promote equality and diversity and to adopt best practice.

Norfolk Frames believe that investing in the communities they work in creates a broader vision that inspires and coheres the company. For this reason, wherever practical, Norfolk Frames employs a skilled local workforce that reflects, at all levels, the resident communities in which they work.

Social housing expectations and aspirations amongst tenants have risen dramatically as a result of the partnering concept.

To meet the expectations of the housing improvement initiatives and to therefore provide a decent homes standard is vital and Norfolk Frames' role of delivering Best Value in partnering arrangements is critical.

By offering on-demand support and attention Norfolk Frames' focus combines efficiency and empathy for occupiers, leaseholders and especially the disabled, socially disadvantaged and the elderly. Before, during and after involvement Norfolk Frames' aim is to minimise disruption to the householder addressing their agenda and managing their specific needs throughout the project.

Of advantage to both partners of Norfolk Frames and tenants, the company's accessible communications policy ensures that all published documents and strategies are written clearly and that they clearly display information on how to obtain alternative formats in line with users' available resources. Norfolk Frames will make documents available on request in languages other than English and formats including Braille; audio cassette; CD and large print.

The Norfolk Frames website is Screen Reader friendly, making it fully accessible to the visually impaired, and, like the door and window care page and download, the main site will soon also become available in a number of different languages.

Managing Director of Norfolk Frames, Paul Preston says: "We pride ourselves on the performance of our products and the support services that underpin them. Our extensive experience in dealing with all sections of the community and our ability to adapt to individual needs engenders a climate of trust, commitment and shared success."
