New 3M Film Takes Surface Design to New Levels of Creativity and Flexibility

Bracknell, UK, 10 January 2007 - 3M United Kingdom will launch its innovative decoration and refurbishment film for the UK's interior design and architecture community at The Surface Design Show 2007 (Stand 421A). The new DI-NOC film from 3M allows unlimited creative freedom and architectural
flexibility in a wide range of interior or exterior applications ranging from wall and panelling solutions to refurbishment of services such as elevators and vending machines and much more. The visually inspiring Vikuiti Rear Projection Film from 3M will also be on display demonstrating its versatility in modern building design environments.
DI-NOC filmThe new DI-NOC film addresses growing customer demands for a material that offers a simple yet high quality, flexible alternative to traditional surface design techniques. Available in a wide variety of colours, shades and finishes, the range consists of 20 different self-adhesive product families, totalling up to 500 patterns, from natural to hi-tech.
The film faithfully reproduces wood, stone, metal, leather, marble, sand, stucco and many others to deliver a high quality, beautiful finish. Its flexible nature makes it adaptable to even curved and rounded surfaces, whilst the additional feature of Comply technology from 3M makes it simple and easy to apply to many substrates.
Application onto existing substrates, in situ, results in reduced labour costs and downtime, making the 3M film a highly effective solution for many refurbishment projects. The range combines the aesthetic quality requirements of superior visual appearance and touch with technical advantages such as ease of application, conformability and durability.
Vikuiti Rear Projection Film 3M will also present its highly versatile, stylish Vikuiti Rear Projection
Film that enables static images, dynamic messaging and video to be projected directly onto glass partitions and windows. It is self-adhesive for easyinstallation and can be cut to almost any specification, offering designers and architects the creative freedom to move away from the squareness of traditional screens and experiment with new and interesting shapes and sizes such as logos and brand identities.
The Vikuiti film produces stunning images, characterised by rich colour rendition, superb brightness, high contrast, and excellent levels of definition and resolution with minimum reflection. All this is combined with 180 degree viewability enabling images to be easily read from long distances and all angles. Static or scrolling text, as well as multiple images, can be projected on the display film simultaneously to create eye-catching, attention-grabbing displays both indoors and outdoors.
