Armacell UK Ltd - Goes online: Updated calculation software from Armacell- The powerful tool for calculating the correct insulation thickness

Armacell has completely revised its calculation programme and now provides ArmWin in a new layout. Unlike the preceding versions, ArmWin AS does not need to be installed, but can be used directly online. This powerful tool can be used to carry out all common technical calculations in refrigeration/air-conditioning and heating and plumbing applications.
With this calculation programme it is possible to determine not only the correct insulation thickness needed to prevent condensation on refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, but also the heat transition coefficient, heat flow, temperature changes for a flowing and stationary medium, and the freezing period for water pipes. For heating and plumbing applications, ArmWin AS can also be used specifically to ascertain the savings in heating costs per insulated metre of pipe.
If all other conditions are the same, the programme automatically works out the insulation thicknesses for various pipe diameters. Now just one single calculation is needed. The calculations are all possible for various Armaflex products and users have direct access to the product catalogue. The new ArmWin version now for the first time allows architects, specifiers and insulators to create a calculation report for a specific building project which can be saved and forwarded as an HTML document.
ArmWin AS is Java-based and is therefore largely platform-independent. This ensures compatibility with the usual operating systems and browsers. It is not necessary to install the programme prior to use; ArmWin AS can be used directly online at www.armacell.co.uk. Alternatively, those interested can order the current ArmaPlus CD from Armacell. Apart from ArmWin AS, the CD also con¬tains information on Armacell’s products, test certificates, approvals and text blocks for tenders. In order to be able to use the ArmWin software, Java 1.5 Runtime must be installed on the computer.
