Icopal Systems - Icopal Sticks to its strengths with Safeseal

A high-performance waterproofing system that is designed to give a professional finish to new or refurbished flat roofs but is safe, simple and speedy to install has been launched by Anderson Monarflex from Icopal.
SafeSeal is a self-adhesive system suitable for a wide range of flat roof applications including all types of domestic building extensions, garages, porches and dormers, which negates the need for bitumen boilers and roofing torches, making the contractor’s job both safer and cleaner.
The system comprises two self-adhesive layers for maximum waterproofing security – an underlay with self-adhesive SBS bitumen on the underside and a polyethylene film on top, available in 8x1m rolls, and a capsheet with the same SBS bitumen underside and side overlaps but with decorative slate granules on top to provide UV protection, available in 6x1m rolls.
These are complemented by a surface conditioner to prepare the roof surface prior to laying the membranes and a sealant that provides a waterproof seal at roll end laps and details. A range of SafeSeal pre-formed aluminium trims to simplify detailing is also available. Tough and durable, with a minimum life expectancy of 20 years, SafeSeal achieves a FAC fire rating when tested to BS476: Part 3:1958.
