Emergency First Response - Calling all Exercise Professionals! Earn REPs CPD credits

SkillsActive, the Sector Skills Council for Active Leisure and Learning, has recently recognised the HSE approved Emergency First Response four day First Aid at Work (GB) course for the purposes of awarding Continuous Professional Development (CPD) credits to those members of the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) wishing to complete a CPR and first aid course and earn credits toward their professional career development.
All REPs registered exercise professionals must demonstrate that they remain in good “professional standing”. They must be seen to engage in appropriate CPD activities across “rolling” 2-year periods of registration where a minimum of 24 credits in any 2-year period must be earned. The Emergency First Response four day First Aid at Work (GB) course is an ideal way for these professionals to ensure that their CPR and first aid skills remain current, while earning them a total of 16 CPD credits!
According to the Resuscitation Council (UK) the fitness industry is considered high risk for sudden cardiac arrest and keeping CPR and first aid skills current is vital. Emergency First Response courses also include training in the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs). AEDs greatly increase a cardiac arrest patient’s chances of a positive outcome and can be used by anyone appropriately trained.
