Jubilee Sailing Trust - Little Britain raises £140K for charity

The London Boat Show saw the property and construction industry regatta, the Little Britain Challenge Cup presenting cheques to their principle charities. The 2006 event, one of the most successful to date, raised £140k which will be distributed amongst 11 charities.
Ellen MacArthur accepted a cheque for £15,000 on behalf of the Ellen MacArthur Trust. This money will help children recovering from cancer, leukemia and other serious diseases to spend a day sailing with the Trust.
The Jubilee Sailing Trust, represented by journalist Peter Snow, received a cheque for £33,700 and Dee Caffari, the first woman in history to sail single-handed, non-stop around the world against the prevailing winds, accepted a cheque for £32,250 on behalf of the Cirdan Sailing Trust.
Event Chairman, David Kong that LBCC also presented a cheque to the Skandia Team GBR Paralympic Team for £30,000 supporting them in the run up to the Olympics in 2012. The LBCC anticipates donating £200k to the team by 2012.
Other charities supported by the LBCC include; the Cowes Sea Cadets, Island Youth Water Activities Centre, St Johns Ambulance, Blind at Sea, The Rebel Trust, East Coast Sail Training Trust and Cowes Inshore Lifeboat.
