Kooltherm K12
 The
high performance of Kingspan Insulation’s Kooltherm K12
Framing Board has been further enhanced by the passing
of a strict fire test, when tested to BS 476 Part 21.
The test is designed to assess the length of time
building materials can maintain integrity and resistance
under fire conditions. Kooltherm K12 provided just such
performance for over 50 minutes, approaching double the
minimum time span.
Kooltherm K12 is a rigid phenolic insulation designed
for new build or refurbishment in timber and steel
framing systems, and is manufactured to the highest
standards under a quality control system approved to BS
EN ISO 9001: 2000. Its conformity with BS 476: Part 21
proves it to be one of the market’s best performers
across key areas.
K12’s smoke obscuration level is classed as
“negligible”, achieving the best possible rating of less
than 5% smoke obscuration when tested to BS5111: Part 1.
Kooltherm K12 offers excellent insulation performance,
with thermal conductivity as low as 0.021 W/m•K.
Kooltherm is unaffected by air movement and resistant to
the passage of water vapour, significantly increasing
useful lifespan.
