Grand Designs for the North: Awards Shortlist Announced

Talented property developers, builders and architects from across the region have been shortlisted for the prestigious Northern Design Awards. Shortlisted companies will compete at the celebrity packed Northern Design Awards at The Chester Grosvenor Hotel & Spa on Saturday May 31, where the winners will be announced. The Awards will be featured in OK! Magazine and those who attend will get the opportunity to rub shoulders with stars such as Gemma Atkinson and Diarmuid Gavin.

The Northern Design Awards are the pinnacle of the Home & Garden Show which is being held at Chester Racecourse from May 30 to June 1. Other Northern Design Awards are for interior and garden design. Garden and interior design gurus will be on hand at the Show for a consultation for members of the general public.

Nineteen companies have been short-listed for the six categories for the Property Awards, from more than 50 entrants;

New Build Award:
August Blake, of Alderley Edge, for Chellaston House, Knutsford
Avenir, of Harrogate, for The Place, Leeds
Muller, of Hatherton, Near Nantwich, for the Moseley’s Yard, Audlem
Westshield Homes, of Oldham, for Miry Meadow, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Derbyshire

Interior Design Award:
Conroy Brook Ltd, of Huddersfield, for Somersbury Court in Huddersfield
Huntsmere, of Alderley Edge, for Westfield, Alderley Edge
Rowland Homes, of Leyland, for Heaton Grange, in Bolton

Conversion Award:
Delamere Homes Ltd, of Tarporley, for Yew Tree Court, Pulford
Gladedale (Yorkshire) Ltd, of Leeds, for Chevin Park, Leeds
Harris Homes, of Chester, for Lleweni, North Wales
Marcol Developments, of Chester, for Dee House in Chester

Eco-Friendly Award:
Huntsmere, of Alderley Edge, for Westfield, Alderley Edge
Peel Hall Park, of Rough Hill, Marston-Cum-Lache, Chester.

Luxury Award:
Hillcrest Homes, of Warrington, for Graythwaite in Prestbury
Hinds Property Development, of Barton, Malpas, for Top Acre, Threapwood, Malpas
Huntsmere, of Alderley Edge, for Westfield, Alderley Edge
Rowland Homes, of Leyland, for Heaton Grange in Bolton

Directional Design Award:
Asquith, of Pontefract, West Yorkshire, for The Gatehaus in Bradford
Hillcrest Homes, of Warrington, for Graythwaite in Prestbury

Event Director Mandy White said:
“We are delighted with the high standard of entrants for this year’s Awards, which looks to be the best year yet. We are asking people to attend the Awards dinner to find out the winners, with a donation from the sale of each ticket given to official show charity the Teenage Cancer Trust. Designs will also be seen by our panel of judges, which is made up of leading industry professionals. Everyone who is short-listed will receive professional photographs of their work, written feedback from our judges and publicity.”

The Property Awards have been established for more than a decade and were founded to promote excellence in house building in the North of England.
