CEMBRIT SHOWCASES SLATE RANGE AT CIH
 Cembrit, specialists in natural and fibre-cement slates, will be
exhibiting on stand 487 in Hall Q at The Chartered Institute of
Housing (CIH) Exhibition (17-19 June 2008, Harrogate International
Conference Centre).
A team of experts from Cembrit will be on hand to show visitors how
to choose the best roofing slates for the job. Cembrit has many
years of experience with natural slates and ensure that its slates
are properly tested and meet all current requirements. The company
is also able to supply fibre-cement slates for those on a budget or
looking for simple fixing.
“Many people think that natural slate is prohibitively expensive but
that just isn’t the case” explains Ged Ferris, marketing manager for
Cembrit. “We have a natural slate for many budgets plus our top of
the range Canadian slates which are excellent matches for Welsh and
Cumbrian slate. They are consequently ideal for heritage areas and
to match existing slate on older buildings.”
He continues “Indeed, even for those on a very tight budget we have
the solution. Fibre cement slates are available in a range of
colours and effects and create a better match for natural slates
than can be achieved by heavy interlocking tiles, with a thick
leading edge.”

Using skills built up over 80 years, Cembrit select natural slate
from Spain, Canada, Brazil, China, India and the countries of
Western Europe. From UK quarries Cembrit offer Welsh, Cornish and
Westmorland slates. Quality levels at Group factories are rigorously
maintained to high standards with fibre cement slates produced to BS
EN 492:2004 and manufactured under the control of a BS EN ISO 9001:
2000 quality management system. Furthermore the company operates an
environmental management system to ISO 14001:1996. Cembrit UK is a
member of Cembrit Holding A/S (formerly the Dansk Eternit Holding
A/S) of Denmark, one of Europe’s major building material producers
of fibre reinforced cement products for the roofing and cladding
