Ecomerchant celebrating 10 years of success with a new branch and the launch of a new triple glazed window.

In the economic gloom, Ecomerchant’s expanding business is a ray of sunshine Faversham, Kent – 21 May 2008. Ecomerchant has opened a new branch devoted to its expanding joinery business. At the same time launching the UK’s first truly affordable high performance timber triple glazed window accredited by the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC). It is such market leading activity that has enabled Ecomerchant to continually expand and grow within the industry over the last 10 years.
The new branch is a showroom for Ecomerchant’s joinery range that includes bespoke double and triple glazed wooden windows and made to measure energy efficient doors. The branch is situated in the heart of Kent’s largest woodland, Blean Woods.
Ecomerchant has been working closely with their suppliers to bring a series of new products to the UK market. The UK’s first truly affordable high performance triple glazed timber window is just one of these exciting new products. For the price of a standard timber double glazed unit, clients can have a precision-engineered, slim-profile FSC pine triple glazed window, making it one of the most cost effective windows in the market place.

Ecomerchant Director, Tim Bolton said, “We are delighted to have been able to develop this high performance timber window. As building regulations move us ever closer to Carbon Neutral homes, this new window gives buildings the thermal performance they need, without harming the environment or hurting the budget.”
It is a very exciting time for the sustainable building materials market. Housing developers are beginning to understand the need for lower impact buildings. The introduction of the Code for Sustainable Homes will eventually lead to zero carbon homes and is paving the way for major changes in housing design and material sourcing. All of this is great news for Ecomerchant, whose expertise in sustainable building products has been acquired over 10 years of trading, making them perfectly positioned to take advantage of the market movement.
