UK Green Building Council membership confirms MEPC as leading
sustainable developer
Leading developer MEPC is the latest to join the UK Green Building
Council (UKGBC), further indicating a commitment to providing
environments and workplaces that reflects its vision for sustainable
business communities.
The UKGBC was launched in 2007 to bring cohesion to the green
building movement. The organisation, which consists of businesses
across the industry, is concerned about the environmental impact of
buildings and infrastructure on the environment. Ultimately, the
UKGBC seeks to transform the way that the built environment of the
United Kingdom is planned, designed, constructed and maintained.
In line with its commitment to creating sustainable business
communities, MEPC has developed a sustainability policy that is in
practice across the company’s portfolio. The company makes a
concerted effort to monitor and report regularly on utility and
energy usage, water usage and waste and recycling. In April, MEPC
launched its new landmark eco-friendly office building at Milton
Park incorporating several energy-saving innovations, including
solar powered water heating, rainwater harvesting and low energy air
conditioning.
