Tyco Thermal Controls Opens its new €8m EMEA Headquarters

Thermal Controls new €8m EMEA Headquarters at Leuven, Belgium has
been officially opened in the presence of the City Mayor, Louis
Tobback, Flemish Minister of Economy Patricia Ceyssens and senior
executives of the company. From here the company will support its
regional operations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
This new HQ has been purpose-built on a 150,000m2 site to replace
its previous facility at Lubbeek, which the company outgrew after
just five years of major business expansion. It will accommodate all
the administrative, technical, product research and development
departments, pre-delivery assembly/fabrication lines, training
facilities and an extensive warehouse and logistics centre.
Tyco Thermal Controls, a division of Tyco International Ltd., is a
world leader in providing solutions for applications involving
heat-tracing, floor heating, snow melting & de-icing, temperature
measurement and control, fire and performance wiring and leak
detection systems. It manufactures and distributes commercial
construction and industrial products and associated services under
the brand names Raychem®, Pyrotenax®, DigiTrace®, Tracer®, IsopadTM,
TraceTek® and WinterGard®.
The new facility incorporates many energy-saving and environmentally
sound features including: solar heating for hot water, low energy
lighting with presence detection control and the re-use of rain
water in sanitary rooms. All around and within the fabric of the
building Tyco Thermal Controls has taken the opportunity to feature
its range of energy-efficient heat-tracing products and systems for
the commercial construction market. The reception area is heated
with a Raychem electric underfloor heating system, hot water
temperature is maintained by HWAT heat-tracing installed on a single
pipe system, electric frost protection systems have been applied to
external pipework and service lines, snow and ice melting systems
are installed for ground heating to ensure loading bays and access
areas remain operational in wintry conditions.
