ISG Jackson- Takes Second Phase Of Work At Stepping Hill Hospital

ISG has secured a second phase of work, with client Pennine Care NHS Trust, to create a new Older Peoples Ward at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport, Cheshire. The £1.3 million project will see the conversion of an existing ground floor ward at the hospital into a new purpose-built Inpatient high support facility for older people.
This latest project builds upon the success of ISG’s previous work at the hospital, which involved extending and refurbishing the Mental Health Unit. In this new phase, the contractor will transform one section of the unit by stripping out the existing ward to a shell and core state and reconfiguring the space to create the new facility, which will provide Inpatient accommodation for 15 patients.
The new Older Peoples Ward has been designed to provide an individual living space for each patient, who benefit from having their own bedroom with en-suite facilities, as well as central communal areas and staff accommodation. Upgrade works include the replacement of all existing windows as well as the installation of modern mechanical & electrical services and new suspended ceilings. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2008.
