Vent-Axcia - Knowledge bank maps out energy saving ventilation solutions at Ecobuild

As well as showcasing the Vent-Axia Lo-Carbon™ collection of energy saving ventilation solutions on Stand E356 at Ecobuild 2007, Vent-Axia, leaders in air management technology, will allow visitors access to its comprehensive information resource the VA Knowledge Bank through a special interactive display.
“Many visitors to Ecobuild will be aware of the raft of legislation that has been brought in to lower carbon emissions and fight climate change” explains Vent-Axia’s Ian Mitchell, Marketing Manager Residential. “However, the vast number of legal requirements which the construction industry has to satisfy can make it confusing when selecting the right low carbon ventilation product for a project. Through the Knowledge Bank, we can help visitors plot a path through these complexities and help them reduce the carbon footprint of their developments”.
The energy saving DC products within the Vent-Axia Lo-Carbon™ initiative highlight how much carbon is emitted over a year, allowing specifiers to easily work out a building’s carbon footprint. Not only can power consumption be reduced by up to 90%, the carbon footprint can be reduced by up to 38kg per annum. The Lo-Carbon concept makes selecting low energy products easier by allowing specifiers to see clearly at a glance each product’s carbon footprint. When utilising heat recovery ventilation (MVHR), the heating system requirement is reduced potentially generating a further carbon footprint reduction of up to 500kg.
The comprehensive Lo-Carbon ventilation range is also supported by unrivalled access to extensive technical advice, design and ventilation applications expertise through the VA Knowledge Bank. At Ecobuild, visitors will be able to use an interactive display on the Vent-Axia stand (E356), allowing them to explore and understand the key legislative drivers, such as the Code for Sustainable Homes where MVHR and electric heating can offer a cost effective solution whilst simultaneously reducing their carbon footprint. The Knowledge Bank allows consultants, specifiers, building owners and self builders to understand these relationships and match the right ventilation equipment to their particular project requirements and identify the carbon savings that can be made.
Leading the debate on low carbon ventilation, Vent-Axia will also be hosting a seminar at Ecobuild on Energy Efficient MVHR Systems – Compliance Route in Residential Buildings, on 26 February 2008. The seminar will focus on Part L and SAP Q and the benefits of using Appendix Q MVHR systems. Here Vent-Axia will explore actual case studies and how MVHR systems have helped developers through their compliance route on projects when using electric heating and noise ingress issues.
Vent-Axia’s on-going commitment to energy-saving ventilation is reinforced by our process of continuous development and our strategy is to ensure that all products and systems within the range will fall under the Lo-Carbon™ umbrella by 2012 through the inclusion of energy saving technology. The Vent-Axia Lo-Carbon™ philosophy reinforces the company’s position as the market leading energy efficient HEVAC provider by firmly placing the company at the forefront of the drive for low energy products.
