White Young Green - Teeside Link up on £5M project
 Continuing
its strong relationship with the Mandale Group, White Young Green (WYG),
has been appointed to its 11th project for the Stockton-on-Tees
property developer in the last 18 months.
The Teesside based firm of consultants to the built, natural and
social environment, is utilising its civil and structural
engineering design skills on a £5m mixed use development at Lime
Street in Newcastle upon Tyne.
The 1200 sq m² site will consist of a five storey, 1-2 bedroom new
build apartment block which will be fitted out to a very high
specification, with some of the units having dedicated terraced
areas, as well as a café area. Work started on the project in July
and is due to finish in August 2008.
Working with architects, Napper, WYG will also be drawing on the
expertise of its Newcastle office for this project. Russell Smith,
Technical Director at the Teesside office of WYG said:
“We have developed a strong working relationship with the Mandale
Group and this project further cements that. For this scheme we have
provided an in-depth service utilising the residential property
sector knowledge of both our Newcastle and Teesside offices.
“This was particularly important due to the location of the site. It
is squeezed between two old buildings and has various health and
safety issues with the use of operational machinery so close to a
main quayside traffic route. All of these factors have made for a
challenging project.”
Over the last 15 months WYG has worked with the Mandale Group on a
number of retail, commercial and residential projects across the
North East including: Portrack Lane Retail Park, a residential
development on Victoria Road , Darlington, Market Dock office
development and a retail/residential development on Dovecot Street.
Janet Cook, a representative at the Mandale Group added: “This
project plays a key role in our ongoing development of Mandale’s
residential property portfolio across the North East, something we
are keen to continue to expand upon.

team onboard, along with Napper Architects, these new apartments
will be of an exceptional standard that has come to be associated
with our Group and we are anticipating strong demand.”
