COLLIERS CRE ADVISES THE CROWN ESTATE ON FIRST MARINA PURCHASE
Colliers CRE has successfully advised The Crown
Estate on the purchase of the Deganwy Marina, on
the North coast of Wales, from Interguide Investment Holdings. The
165 berth marina is the first
operational marina to be purchased by The Crown Estate.
The Colliers CRE Recreational Property Team is retained by The Crown
Estate to give strategic
advice on acquisitions in the marina sector. When advising on the
acquisition of Deganwy Marina,
the team provided industry advice, business modelling and a
valuation of the property.
John Rushby, Director of Recreational Property at Colliers CRE, is
currently updating his research
into investment in the Marina sector. He comments: “The Crown Estate
is wise to invest in the
Marina sector. The secure income stream, high conversion to net
ratio and underlying capital growth
make it an attractive investment. This, allied to the year on year
increase in new craft and boat
owners, is underpinning demand for both investors and berths”.
