White Young Green - Strategic Appointments

boosting its team in the Newcastle office, White Young Green (WYG),
has appointed four new members of staff. With over 100 years’
experience between them the latest recruits have a great deal of
knowledge to add to the existing team.
Strengthening the Building Services team, Kevin Hannah, 42, joins as
an associate director. He will be utilising his skills gained over
the last 20 years to enhance the service WYG delivers to its clients
and is currently working on a number of projects including the new
£30 million Newcastle City Library and Phase Three of Southwick
retirement village in Sunderland for Gentoo Housing. Kevin said:
“This position allows me to influence engineering design on a number
of high-status projects that White Young Green is working on and
gives me the opportunity to support the development and career
progression of more junior staff - which I find a very rewarding
aspect of my role.” Also joining the consultants to the built,
natural and social environment as an associate, John Simkin, 59,
brings with him an extensive understanding of the engineering
industry, having worked in this sector for more than 40 years. Also
joining the team is Michael Dunlavy, a principal mechanical
engineer, originally from Newcastle who returns to his native city
having worked in Dublin for seven years. Michael said: “I am
delighted to be back in the north east; especially joining such an
established consultancy. White Young Green has a reputation for
recruiting high quality staff and I look forward to working with
such experienced colleagues.”
There are also further developments in the Civil and Structural
team, with the appointment of Warren Teasdale, 41, who joins as a
senior structural engineer, a role which will see him provide
structural advice relating to the refurbishment of new build and
remedial work contracts. He is currently working on a concrete
repair contract for North Shields Library and is also providing
design services for various prisons nationally for HMPS.
Having worked at Arup for the last 21 years, Warren was keen to take
up WYG’s offer of employment, recognising the firm as a major player
in the engineering sector.
Commenting on all four appointments Grahame Kelly, director at the
WYG’s Newcastle office said:
“I am delighted to welcome our new recruits to the business. Each of
the engineers bring their own unique specialist skills and
experience to add to the strong teams we already heave in the
Newcastle office. Their arrival signifies our success in achieving
planned and sustainable growth in accordance with our business plan.
The Newcastle office has been gradually expanding and now employs 86
people.”
