ICOPAL’S MONARPERM REACHES AN IRISH MILESTONE
 Building
membranes specialist Icopal is celebrating after notching up sales
of two million square metres of its flagship Monarperm roofing
membrane in Ireland.
The milestone was achieved with an order from Belfast-based
builders’ merchants group JP Corry who have 16 branches in the
region as well as five in the Republic of Ireland that operate under
the Coens and D Kantor brands.
They supply vapour permeable Monarperm to new-build housing
contractors as an underlay for pitched roofs since its vapour
permeability eliminates the need for traditional eaves/ridge
ventilation.
Its special three-layer composite structure uses a unique
microporous film that provides high tensile strength and puncture
resistance. It is also lightweight, easy to handle at 1.5 metres
wide and UV stable. Monarperm 700 is the flagship version, 500 its
leaner brother.
James Robb, Icopal’s regional director for Ireland, said while it
had taken three years to pass the one million square metre mark, the
two million mark had taken just 20 months due to increased market
recognition of the outstanding performance quality and reliability
of the Monarperm 700 and 500 membranes.
“Although there are many alternative membranes in the marketplace,
Monarperm has proved to be one that builders’ merchants and
contractors can trust and choose with confidence,” he said.
“It gives exceptionally high technical specification and performance
at highly competitive prices, backed by Icopal’s unrivalled service
and technical support. Both Monarperm 700 and 500 carry BBA and IAB
certification.”
