LATEST CISTERMISER IRC HAS ALL OPTIONS IN ONE BOX

The latest Cistermiser IRC is the answer in all washroom environments where urinals linked to an auto flush cistern are installed. The sensor control can be pipe, wall or ceiling mounted, using battery or mains power and the necessary kit for all mounting options is now included in one box. The IRC ceiling or wall flush mounting kit offers an attractive installation option that meets architects’ aesthetic requirements.
The IRC comprises a solenoid valve assembly that is plumbed in on the water supply to the urinal cistern, together with a battery or mains powered Passive Infrared (PIR) sensor module. If the PIR is mounted directly onto the solenoid valve assembly it must be powered by batteries but if it is remotely mounted sensor, it can be either mains or battery powered: the product comes ready-configured for either option. The solenoid comes with an interchangeable valve seat that is used to increase the flow where the supply pressure is low.
The PIR sensor reacts to movement and when this is first detected the sensor opens the solenoid valve, which is normally closed, and water flows to the cistern. For an initial period of 25 minutes the valve remains open, but the PIR sensor is inactive and during this period the normal fill and flush cycle of the cistern will operate.
After this initial 25 minute period the PIR sensor is re-activated and any movement detected in the next 5 minutes will cause the cycle to repeat. If no movement is detected, the solenoid valve is closed, shutting off the water supply until further movement is detected. In this way the IRC Flush Control identifies periods of inactivity during which the full operation of the auto flush cistern would be wasteful.
Additional features of the IRC Flush Control assist urinal hygiene and help reduce washroom odours. An integrated flow regulator within the solenoid valve can be adjusted by the installer or end user to ensure that, whilst the washroom is in use, the cistern flushes once every time the solenoid is opened. If the PIR sensor detects no movement for 12 hours a hygiene flush is activated. This automatically opens the solenoid valve, starting a 30 minute cycle during which the normal fill and flush operation will rinse the urinals and pipework.
Installing the Cistermiser IRC flush control valve can result in water consumption savings of up to 80%. These savings mean that payback of the cost of installation can be achieved in a little over seven months. The IRC flush control unit carries a three year warranty, is compliant with Water Regulations and is on the DEFRA Water Technology List.
