HKR ARCHITECTS BUILD UP HOSPITALITY DIVISION WITH TWO NEW APPOINTMENTS

HKR Architects, the award-winning international architect and design practice, has strengthened its team with the appointment of two new directors, Bernard Lee and Gordon Pickering, to grow its hotels, resorts & leisure division.
Bernard Lee has 20 years of experience in the hospitality sector and will be leading HKR’s hospitality projects outside of the UK. He joins HKR from Broadway Malyan where he was Director of Global Hospitality and previously RTKL UK, where he was responsible for its EMEA hospitality division. His work has taken him from projects in Europe, to the Middle East, the USA and Africa and he is has already committed HKR to projects in the competitive markets of the UAE and Russia. Some of his most notable projects include the five star Conrad Hotel in Abu Dhabi, Capital Towers, SZR in Dubai and the Westin Golf Resort in Alicante, Spain.
Gordon Pickering joins HKR from Reardon Smith Architects, where he undertook design work on some of the largest luxury hotels in the world. He will now head up HKR’s hotel and leisure sector in the UK. Gordon’s career highlights to-date include working with Giorgio Armani on the first Armani Hotel in Milan, the total re-design and refurbishment of the Cumberland Hotel, Marble Arch, the re-plan and extension of the Intercontinental Hotel in Mayfair, the Grand Mansion Project, India and the Sheraton Hurghada Tourist Resort in Egypt. Gordon will be responsible for project delivery, client and team management, from HKR’s London office.
