Polyflor - Expona style for super Silverjet lounge
 The warmth and style of rustic mahogany effect
luxury vinyl tiles from the Polyflor Expona art & design collection
provide the perfect complement to the coolly elegant décor of the
Silverjet private terminal at Luton Airport.
Silverjet is the first British airline to provide an exclusive
private jet style business class service from Luton to New York and
the 9000 sq ft passenger lounge was conceived by the Area Sq design
and build team to reflect this new approach to long haul travel.
Area Sq - part of the Fourfront Group and a leading UK office
interior design and fit-out specialist - specified Expona as the
feature floor for the lounge and also chose Polysafe Standard safety
flooring in black for the food preparation area and the airline’s
crew quarters.
Combining stunning designs with quality materials and proven
functionality, the Expona art & design collection has been specially
developed to widen the horizons of creative interior design,
offering a balanced choice of 20 timber and 20 stone/design effects.
Suitable for very heavy commercial use and ideal for a variety of
leisure, education, retail and specific healthcare installations,
Expona features a polyurethane surface treatment, aiding maintenance
and removing traditional restrictions on freedom of design choice.
Polysafe Standard offers a choice of 16 fresh, modern colourways and
a surface emboss which hugely enhances its cleanability. Coloured
quartz, aluminium oxide and silicon carbide particles are
incorporated within the product for improved traction and safety
underfoot.

As well as meeting the performance requirements of EN13845 and being
BBA Agrément certified as G5ws, Polysafe Standard conforms to HSE
guidelines, achieving a sustainable slip resistance value of 36 on
the RRL Pendulum wet test (Four-S/Slider 96 rubber) and a surface
roughness of Rz 20µm.
Fully tested to fire safety standard EN 13501-1, Polysafe Standard
is certified as Class Bfl-S1, achieving the criteria EN ISO 9239-1
8kw/m˛ and the mandatory requirement of EN ISO 11925-2 pass.
In common with all Polysafe vinyl floorcoverings, Polysafe Standard
is flexible, for easy fitting, welding and site-formed coving and
can also be welded at the seams and to coved skirtings to create
continuous, impervious surfaces.
