INSULATE FOR TEA LIGHT HEATING WITH ISOVER
 Heating
a room of 20m² with just 10 tea lights or two 100 watt bulbs is
achievable if insulated to Passive House standards, according to a
the Multi-Comfort House concept from Saint-Gobain Isover.
Even people’s body heat contributes by a calorific value of
approximately 80 watts to heating an interior, according to data in
Isover’s new guide to planning and realising the Multi-Comfort
building of the future.
This is a building whose construction benefits from a sealed
insulation envelope, which allows no gaps or thermal bridges, and
optimises heat gain or loss to provide comfortable indoor climate,
regardless of season.
Research shows a Passive House will require 75% less space heating
than a conventionally built new house, and up to 90% less compared
to old buildings. It also uses less than 1.5 litres of heating oil
or 1.5m³ of natural gas per square metre per year.

the concept, advises on how to design and plan to it, and shows case
studies of new-build and refurbished houses, apartments, offices and
schools. It also details the sustainability of mineral glass wool
