Design Group 3 Architects - Turn there attention to Leeds
Design-led practice, Design Group 3 Architects, has been appointed
by Park Lane Properties to design 22 innovative, compact apartments
for key workers in the popular Leeds suburb of Headingley.
Situated on Cardigan Lane and comprising four one bedroom and 18
studio apartments, the design utilises Modern
 Methods of
Construction for the building envelope, based on the practice’s
award-winning Modar concept.
The contemporary four storey building responds to what is a very
tight site, with the lower ground floor set below the level of the
road, helping to reduce the perceived height of the building in
relation to the surrounding properties.
Care has been taken to reduce the impact of a modern building in
what is a very Victorian terrace environment. A variety of exterior
finishes have been specified, reinforcing the massing and the
elevational treatment, which has been driven by the need to relate
to the neighbouring terraces.
Park Lane Properties have been able to provide for sustainable
transport solutions because of the very close proximity of the site
to the Burley Road Railway Station and primary bus routes.
