CEDIA Expo is one of the most important dates in the calendar for home electronic systems professionals across CEDIA Region 1 (Europe, Russia, the Middle East, India and Africa). On the show floor, visitors will be able to experience the latest innovations and new technologies in home cinema, audio-video solutions, lighting control, structured wiring, HVAC control, blinds and security systems. Making its return after the success of the first ‘Hot Topics theatre’ at last year’s event, this Show Floor Seminar Theatre will welcome ex-Dragon Richard Farleigh as its keynote speaker as well as topical seminars from industry experts, all free of charge. For those involved in the planning, design, specification or installation of home electronic systems, CEDIA Expo remains a key event with an exclusively residential focus.

Exhibiting CEDIA
CEDIA Expo 2009 is the perfect destination for those interested in new residential CI products and the latest technologies and is an excellent opportunity for making new customer and industry contacts.

There are also a number of exhibitors who’ve signed up for larger stands for the 2009 event including Habitech, Kaleidescape and Spectral GB.

Educating CEDIA
A large open seminar theatre on the show floor will play host to a keynote speech from ex-Dragon Richard Farleigh as well as a full programme of topical seminars. Topics confirmed so far include ‘What’s on the horizon’, ‘New technologies update’, ‘HDMI’, ‘The future of BBC HD’, ‘Smart Metering’ and ‘Technology and the Code for Sustainable Homes’.

CEDIA has re-shaped the Expo 2009 education programme to ensure the event provides even greater benefits to visitors and exhibitors. Following a detailed review of the Expo 2008 education curriculum alongside survey feedback provided to the Association by delegates, visitors and exhibitors and continuing, year-on-year expansion of the CEDIA training schedule outside of Expo, CEDIA has introduced a number of significant changes for 2009.

The CEDIA 2009 education programme will comprise a blend of one day workshops focused on specific industry issues, such as, HDMI distribution, alongside shorter sessions provided in a tighter 4 hour time slot from 10 AM until 2 PM on each of the show days 23rd-25th June.

Highlights of this year’s programme include a two day ‘Home cinema design workshop’, ‘The complete guide to working on site’, ‘Designing a gaming room’, ‘Distributed media technologies’ and ‘Introduction to audio and video setup and calibration’. The CEDIA Expo Seminar Guide, available from the Expo website, gives detailed information and timings for all courses taking place at CEDIA Expo to allow visitors to plan their time at the event.

Registration for Expo is free before midnight on Friday 5 June. After this date there will be a charge of £12 for CEDIA members and £18 for non-members. Pre-registration closes at 5pm on Friday 19th June. The cost for entry on the door is £20 for CEDIA members and £25 for non-members.
