Delta Controls and Complete Control Installations (CCI) have launched a ‘plug-and-play’ fan coil unit controller, which allows building owners and managers to accommodate changes to floor plan layouts without the need for costly HVAC programme modifications.

Building management system specialist CCI has developed the innovative BACnet Intelligent controller, CCI-FCU, with technology from building controls expert, Delta Controls Inc of Canada. Using BACnet technology, the CCI-FCU controller seamlessly integrates into new or existing systems to create a flexible and cost-effective controls solution.

The device is configured to control a variety of fan coil unit applications including two or four-pipe applications with up to three fan speeds and three-point heating / cooling control.

With its pre-installed program, the CCI-FCU controller offers a ‘plug-and-play’ BMS solution, which enables it to automatically detect whether it is in standalone mode or if it exists on a network.

“With the addition of the CCI-FCU System Manager, the controller will automatically be synchronised onto the network and will only require repositioning of the sensor or an upgrade with setpoint adjustment,” says Lee Terry, Managing Director of CCI.

When connected to Delta Controls’ powerful BACnet BMS software, ORCAview, the CCI-FCU provides the operator with an easy-to-use, flexible and reliable system.

“The controller is ideally suited to applications where the building has undergone a change of use,” continues Lee. “Owners don’t need to reprogramme the system, it just takes one simple installation and the controller automatically communicates with the CCI-FCU System Manager network, saving time and reducing engineering costs.”
