Direct Trade is now offering Pilkington energiKare™ with a Window Energy Rating (WER) of B as standard on its 2 most popular systems. Less than 18 months after partnering with Pilkington energiKare™, Direct Trade has upgraded its standard energy efficient offering to help its customers add value to their windows and save householders even more energy and money off their fuel bills.

Pilkington energiKareTM family is a range of energy efficient glazing and combines two leading Pilkington products, Pilkington OptiwhiteTM and Pilkington K GlassTM. According to the Glass and Glazing Federation calculator, when replacing single glazing with B rated windows, customers can save up to 47 tonnes of CO2 and £17,000 over a 20 year period. As well as these impressive savings, Pilkington energiKare™ also allows more heat and light in from the sun, contributing positively to a home’s energy requirements.

With more than a million windows incorporating Pilkington energiKare™ installed since the product’s launch in 2007, these results show Pilkington energiKare™ is an effective way to improve the energy-efficiency of a home. What’s more, Pilkington has estimated that if every household in the UK replaced their glazing with Pilkington energiKare™, over 20 years the nation would save a massive 234 million tonnes of CO2 and £149billion off their fuel bills.
