Marley Plumbing & Drainage has redesigned its permanent exhibition space at the National Self Build & Renovation Centre, Swindon, to include its new Waterloc250 stormwater and rainwater harvesting systems, together with Alutec aluminium and Life4 rainwater ranges.

Waterloc250 offers a sustainable and effective method of dealing with stormwater run-off. 96% of the cell volume is available to store water, minimising the area needed for the installation. In addition, the innovative design of Waterloc250 allows for quick installation in layers, producing a secure tank, which can be configured to suit the area available. The system is easy to handle, lightweight, with a maximum vertical load of 35 tonnes and ideal for use in either an infiltration or attenuation design.

Utilising the Waterloc250 cells is the Marley rainwater harvesting system, which is installed under ground in the garden to collect rainwater from the roof via the rainwater system. Available in two different kit forms, domestic backup and garden irrigation, the Waterloc250 cells form a tank around a central riser, which houses a filter and pump. Rainwater collected can then be used for toilet flushing, car washing and garden irrigation. With each person in the UK using around 70 litres of mains water each day for tasks where rainwater would be just as acceptable, this represents a major saving in the energy required to purify, transmit and dispose of mains water.

Marley Life4 gutters and downpipes have high gloss levels with stable colour retention of up to four times longer than standard PVCu rainwater systems. The product is ‘co-extruded’, a process by which two different materials are extruded at the same time to make one product. Life4 uses a higher specification material to form a thin capping layer on the outside of the gutter or downpipe, with standard material on the inside. This higher specification material, by its very nature is more durable.

Also on the stand is the range of Alutec aluminium rainwater systems, with the latest addition of Evolve. Alutec Evolve is available in half round and Deepflow profiles and is one of the most sustainable and cost effective rainwater systems available in the UK today. The Evolve aluminium range is extremely durable and lightweight, lasting for more than 50 years, whilst the polyester powder coating ensures a hardwearing, fade resistant finish, which will last the lifetime of the product.
