Luminaires from Riegens Lighting were the preferred choice for the illumination throughout the new multi-million pound global headquarters of Insights Learning and Development Ltd. The striking HQ, named 'Terra Nova', was opened by Scotland’s First Minister Alex Salmond and is located at Dundee Technology Park, just 4 miles west of Dundee City Centre.

Insights operates in over 20 countries and is one of the world’s leading learning and development companies. Working with its clients, Insights helps them to understand their employees development needs whilst increasing their effectiveness and growth.

Built by Mansell Construction Services Ltd, 'Terra Nova' was completed on time and on budget. Riegens luminaires, incorporating energy saving T5 lamps, were specified by local consulting building services engineers BBH Partnership for all aspects of the building. “Riegens has an extremely good reputation within the lighting industry” commented BBH’s Kevin Nicoll. “I find its range of luminaires easy to work with and, for specialised projects, they are always willing to take time to sit down and discuss, adapt or develop a specific luminaire for each specific installation” continued Kevin.

Riegens Cirrus ultra low profile suspended luminaires were selected for the main open plan office areas at Insights. Chosen for their ability to provide a good even illumination, this is achieved using micro prism panels and dedicated back reflectors. Despite the existing mix of grid and plasterboard ceilings at Insight, the suspended luminaires were secured at the same height to provide clean lines with neat rows of luminaires.

For corridors and reception areas, Riegens recessed Concido 250 downlights were installed, incorporating 2 x 42w compact fluorescent lamps. Engineered to suit a number of applications, Concido 250 is available with a range of decorative and technical attachments to suit each individual project. Cirrus slim and unobtrusive, Circular fittings have been utilised in the stairwells to provide excellent illumination with either wall or ceiling mounted options.
