Telling Architectural have recently supplied their Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) panels to the Columbia Heights municipal project in Washington DC, USA. The scheme was designed by the Washington office of ZGF Architects to create a streetscape offering more than a pleasing aesthetic in modern art.

The PV cells encapsulated between two layers of 5mm toughened safety glass were created in a series of rectangular and circular panels pre-drilled to receive SFS ‘spider’ fasteners for connection to the brushed stainless steel support tubes.

Photo voltaic panels are "a façade technology of the future” in this era of sustainable and integrated building.

Suitable for use as rainscreen cladding, within curtain walling, for roofs, atriums and suncreens the PVB panels are available in mono and polycrystalline translucent colours in (blue, green, yellow, violet, grey, red) with the cells differing in colour and power level.
