Diversified technology company 3M is inviting end users of hearing
protection equipment (HPE) to a free, hands-on, interactive seminar
to help them ensure their employees are properly protected and to
get the most out of the company’s range of innovative HPE products.
At the event at 3M’s UK headquarters in Bracknell on Wednesday 23
February, delegates will have the chance to find out more about the
role of HPE in worker protection through a series of educational and
informative presentations from 3M technical specialists.
The 3M team will also explain the 3M Hearing Conservation Programme
– an on-site service provided to end users involving training on the
noise levels they face, the health effects of excessive noise, and
how to select, correctly fit and maintain HPE products.
Live product demonstrations will be followed by the chance for
delegates to try on and handle a variety of products from the 3M HPE
range and discuss their own hearing conservation issues with their
peers and 3M representatives at a ‘feedback forum’.
They will also be able to book a session to try 3M’s E-A-Rfit
Validation System, an objective, quantitative hearing protector
fit-test system which in a matter of seconds delivers a Personal
Attenuation Rating - the noise reduction level achieved for a given
hearing protector by an individual worker.
The seminar is suitable for anyone in any industry wanting to learn
more about the vital importance of hearing protection – whether they
are dedicated health and safety professionals or others with
responsibility for workplace health and safety. Lunch and
refreshments will be provided.
Sue Poole of 3M’s Occupational Health & Environmental Safety
Division commented: “At 3M our offering goes well beyond the
provision of products – we believe it is vital to work with both
employers and end users to ensure they are making the right choices
and using the products optimally. The feedback we receive at these
and other events also provides input to the development of future
platforms of 3M personal protective equipment.”
