The Performance Timber Products Group (PTP) goes from strength to
strength and continues to add quality brands to the Group not only
through acquisition but investment in people too. Chris Wood, who
was for many years a member of the team behind the successful timber
window brand Mumford & Wood Limited, has re-joined the Group taking
a new and pivotal role as Group Sales Director. Chris will work
closely with Simon Howard, Managing Director of Mumford and Wood,
where he, with his previous experience, will oversee the Sales and
Marketing strategy.
“I am delighted and excited to return,” says Chris Wood. “Frankly,
it is quite amazing what the Group has achieved in a relatively
short period of time acquiring TimberWindows.com; the leading
merchant timber window brand Dale Windows and John Porter Doors
Limited. These have added impact and market diversity to the
business.” PTP now covers all routes to the markets for timber
windows and commercial performance doorsets.
John Mumford of Fernwater Consultants has also returned to the
business in a consultancy role and is using his technical expertise
to carry out a number of exciting projects at Mumford & Wood.
The Performance Timber Products Group was established in 2006 and
over four years has grown turnover from £6m to almost £25m annually.
The Group currently includes Mumford & Wood Limited, manufacturers
of bespoke, premium timber windows and doors; TimberWindows.com and
The English Glasshouse who provide timber windows, doors and
conservatories through a national installer network; Dale Windows,
providing the Group’s first entry into the builder’s merchant
sector; John Porter Doors Limited, commercial timber door
manufacturer and now Iconic Internal Doors Limited.
“We now have a totally comprehensive portfolio of high quality
timber products to design, sell and install for architects,
developers and self builders,” states Chris Wood. “Specifiers are
increasingly looking for a one-stop-shop where they can be sure to
achieve consistency in quality, service and performance. Whether
it’s traditional or contemporary windows, entrance or internal
doors, conservatories, orangeries and roof lights, there is really
no need to shop around.”
Chris Wood left Mumford & Wood to complete a number of projects and
also to set up Iconic Internal Doors with John Mumford. Both are
sons of the company’s founder members. The Iconic Intelligent
Doorset enables easy on-site installation with a completely
engineered product that makes real savings in labour and
installation skills. Iconic addresses a gap in the market for
internal doors that make a genuine design statement in both
contemporary and traditional projects.
Iconic Doorsets are now available through the PTP Group on an
exclusive supply agreement.
