Spirax Sarco’s new steam training prospectus has all the courses
necessary to help stay abreast of the latest legislation and improve
the efficiency of steam plant operations.
An important addition to the schedule for 2011 is the Boiler Plant
Regulations and Guidelines course (D8). This provides a broad
overview of legislation, guidance and best practice within the wet
side of the boiler and in steam systems, to help users, or potential
users, understand their legal obligations.
Spirax Sarco also offers a four-day Boiler Operation Accreditation
Scheme course (D6A) for boiler operators and managers that is
recognised by the Health and Safety Executive, the UK Insurance
industry (SAFed) and industry members through the Combustion
Engineering Association. This course has increased significance due
to the new Guidance on the Safe Operation of Boilers being published
in 2011. The guidance for managers has a renewed emphasis on the
level of training expected by those responsible for ensuring the
overall safety of boiler operations, as well as for operators with
hands-on responsibilities.
Also popular is Spirax Sarco’s Energy Savings course (E1). Delegates
learn about energy saving opportunities in steam systems, how to
estimate the energy requirements of a steam plant and how to
calculate the payback period. The application of these skills and
energy saving ideas can cut an organisation’s energy bills and
carbon emissions significantly.
The Spirax Sarco 2011 training brochure details the full range of
courses covering all aspects of the design, operation and
maintenance of steam systems. The depth and knowledge of Spirax
Sarco’s lecturers ensures a high standard on all the courses, and
all lecturers are fully conversant with the day-to-day issues and
practical aspects of steam systems and delegate roles.
