Marley Plumbing and Drainage has extended its soil and waste product
range with the introduction of Marley Akatherm HDPE Drainage – a
modern high density polyethylene system, offering specifiers and
contractors even more choice from one supplier.
Marley Akatherm HDPE is a drainage system that is manufactured to
meet high standards of durability and reliability, offering an
alternative solution to cast iron. It is particularly suited for
commercial applications or where a product with high impact or
abrasion resistance is required, such as hospitals, hotels, schools,
as well as residential buildings. HDPE will also cope with
temperature variations of -40°C to 100°C making it ideal for
external as well as internal installations.
The combination of the excellent material properties of HDPE with
homogenous welded joints provides greater installation flexibility
with a wide range of jointing options. The various connection
methods include electrofusion, butt welding and push fit expansion
sockets depending upon the particular project requirements. This
ensures a quick, clean, reliable and cost effective installation
compared to cast iron in particular. Furthermore, the lightweight
construction of the HDPE system results in additional cost savings
in transport and handling.
This new product launch is supported by the renowned Marley
Technical Design service team who have an exemplary track record in
finding solutions to project requirements. Marley has also invested
in the latest design software to provide added value to specifiers
and designers.
In addition, Marley is offering a specialist fabrication service
able to provide pre-fabricated stacks, made in a quality controlled
environment, eliminating installation time on site, particularly on
larger projects. This service also lends itself to offsite
manufacture, a construction method growing in popularity.
“This latest product offering is part of our new innovation focus at
Marley. Marley Akatherm HDPE has a proven track record across
Europe, giving specifiers the assurance of performance. Its inherent
properties help to increase the overall product lifecycle expectancy
and reduce maintenance and replacement costs across the system,”
comments Fiona Bashford, Marketing Manager at Marley Plumbing and
Drainage.
The range covers an extensive package of pipes and fittings in the
diameters 40 mm- 315 mm, which includes pipe, bends, electrofusion
couplers, branches, branch balls and access pipes. All the products
in the range are approved to BS EN 1519: 2000.
