Formally launched at The ARC 2011 show, Alliance Lighting UK is the
brainchild of lighting industry veterans Douglas James (Whitegoods)
and Mark DeVries (Alliance Lighting USA) and brings together their
expertise to represent some of the world’s leading specialist
lighting manufacturers.
Vode, Technilum, Lumenpulse, Filix and ALM create some of the finest
work in modern architectural lighting producing the quality and
standard of design familiar to Whitegoods existing customers and all
six brands will be represented exclusively by Alliance Lighting in
the UK.
Brandon Siemion (Vice President Lumenpulse) reported high levels of
interest at both the Lumenpulse stand and the Alliance stand at ARC
“Our introduction of sustainable LED fittings to the UK market was
very well received. The design community quickly understood the
design, performance and sustainability and appreciated the five year
warranty.”
Benoit Saes (Directeur Commercial Sales Manager Technilum) stated :
”This is our first time at The ARC Show and during these two days I
have met people from all over the world. By way of Alliance Lighting
UK I have introduced my company and shared experience with great
professionals within architecture and lighting. My last meeting of
the day led to a discussion with a very important potential client
and this face to face may never have happened if not for our
presence at the show”
Douglas James (Lighting Director Whitegoods and co-founder and joint
Director of Alliance Lighting) was extremely pleased with the
continuing client interest in Whitegoods products:
“In particular our new Gimbal and LED down lights were very well
received. It is great to have the opportunity once again to be able
to get the message across and to show our latest products.”
Tom Warton (Lighting President Vode lighting) reported that
”The interest in our products was extremely high, with most visitors
commenting on the style and high quality of the range”
The LightWalk & Party
The NightSeeing™ walk led by world renowned urban lighting artist
Leni Schwendinger ended up at the party, hosted by Alliance
Lighting, in conjunction with Lumenpulse.
The largest ever LightWalk yet saw IALD delegates; landscape
architects, designers and manufacturers from all over the country
led on a walk, after-dark, exploring the urban environment of
Islington.
The streets of N1 were illuminated by the fabulously quirky
umbrellas supplied by Alliance Lighting to protect the walkers from
the much anticipated English weather!
The large umbrellas had a super bright LED shaft running through the
middle and this helped to add to the atmosphere of this unique
lighting event. The side streets of The Angel appeared strangely
reminiscent of a scene from Blade Runner!
Delegates later thawed out over mulled wine and winter warming food
and had the opportunity to meet the entire Alliance Lighting team.
The cozy bar venue which was innovatively lit by products supplied
by Lumenpulse; The LumenbeamX RGB, perfect for all colour changing
flood lighting applications in both exterior and large public
interior spaces, was used to light up trees in the nearby park,
giving life and colour to this urban space.
