OSRAM’s new, multifunctional POWERTRONIC® PTo 3DIM electronic control gear (ECG) features incredible efficiency and durability to enhance street and outdoor lighting. Available in a range of wattages that come equipped with three options for controlling and dimming lamps, achieving efficient outdoor lighting has never been easier.

PTo 3DIM ECG is available in 50W, 70W, 100W and 150W versions that permit flexible dimming of the light down to 60% of the original output. Thanks to their solid cast plastic housing, each version is resistant to weathering, insects and impact which reduces maintenance costs over its lifetime.

This innovative ECG reduces energy losses by up to 50% compared with conventional control gear and increases lamp efficiency by up to 10% as well as operating life by up to 30%. Thanks to an average operating life of 60,000 hours and a surge protection of up to 10 kV, failures are rare thus keeping maintenance requirements low.

As EU legislation will ban the most inefficient lighting products from the market over the coming years, street and outdoor lighting has to be more than just functional; it has to be efficient as well. Thanks to its flexible dimming capabilities, this new ECG from OSRAM makes a valuable contribution towards energy and cost savings.

Efficient in combination with HCI®-TT Lamps PTo
3DIM works particularly efficiently in combination with OSRAM’s POWERBALL® HCI®-TT ceramic metal halide lamps that provide a straightforward option for upgrading from a yellowish light to a white light. This improves contrast sensitivity and contributes towards road safety.

With PTo 3DIM, OSRAM offers a sustainable and long-term solution for street and outdoor lighting. Depending on the nature and scope of the control task, the ECG can be altered from one dimming mode to another without requiring any changes to the hardware.

The 3DIM control logic will become an OSRAM standard: in addition to the ECG for HID lamps, OSRAM will also provide LED power supplies for street lighting fitted with 3DIM control options in the future.
